Introduction

Sign In App is the system used for staff and visitors to sign in and out of the school premises. The system allows the school to accurately monitor who is onsite at any one time and ensures adherence to safeguarding principles.

There are three wall mounted terminals onsite that can be used by staff; one by the reception desk, one at the bottom of the stairs by reception, and one inside the sportshall office.

Signing in and out

There are three different methods staff can use to sign in and out of the system:

1. Wall mounted terminals touchscreen

2. Wall mounted terminals staff ID badge

3. Sign In App Companion app

Wall mounted terminals touchscreen

To sign in:

1. Tap the screen to start

2. Tap "sign in"

3. Tap "staff" (if the option appears)

4. Start typing your name, and then select yourself from the resulting list

5. Tap the green "continue" button (if the option appears)

The system will display the message "thank you for signing in"

To sign out:

1. Tap the screen to start

2. Tap "sign out"

3. Start typing your name, and then select yourself from the resulting list

4. Tap the red "sign out" button

The system will display the message "thank you for signing out"

Wall mounted terminals staff ID badge

To sign in simply tap the card reader attached to the wall mounted terminal with your staff ID badge. The system will display the message "thank you for signing in".

To sign out simply tap the card reader with your staff ID badge. The system will display the message "thank you for signing out".

If your staff ID badge is not associated to your account, this can be done by following these steps:

1. Tap the welcome screen

2. Tap the magnifying glass (top right corner)

3. Start typing your name, and then select yourself from the resulting list

4. Tap "connect an RFID tag"

5. Hold your staff ID badge to the card reader

Sign In App Companion app

The Sign In App Companion app allows staff to sign in and out from their smart phone when on site.

Users can download the app using one of the following links:

Apple App Store

Google Play Store

A unique authorisation code will be required to use the app. Staff can generate an email with this code at one of the wall mounted terminals as follows:

1. Tap the welcome screen

2. Tap the magnifying glass (top right corner)

3. Start typing your name, and then select yourself from the resulting list

4. Tap "connect companion app"

5. Tap "invite by email"

After downloading the app, tap "Get Started" and enter your 12-digit authorisation code.

These codes are unique, can only be used once, and expire after 72 hours.

If your code has expired or you've already used the code once, you can request a new Companion app invite directly from the invitation email or by following the above advice again and generating a new email.
